Refund Policy

Last updated August 2026

Leap Financial Services (Pty) Ltd (registration 2026/611454/07, registered credit provider NCRCP pending) is a South African credit provider. This policy explains when and how money collected from you is refunded.

Scope

Leap does not sell goods, subscriptions or services. We advance short-term credit and collect loan repayments by debit order under a mandate you signed as part of your credit agreement. Ordinary consumer refunds for purchases therefore do not apply. What this policy covers is money we collected from your bank account that we were not entitled to keep.

Erroneous or duplicate collections

If an amount is debited in error, for the wrong amount, on the wrong date, more than once for the same instalment, or after your loan has already been settled, Leap will refund the affected amount to the bank account it was taken from. No refund fee is charged for a collection error on our side.

Overpayments and credit balances

If your account is in credit after your loan is fully settled — for example because a final debit order went through after an early settlement payment — the credit balance is refunded to you on request. You may also ask us to hold the balance against a future instalment instead.

How to request a refund

Email support@leap-fs.com with your ID number, your loan reference, the amount and date of the debit, and a short description of the issue. Email is our only support channel. We acknowledge requests within one business day, verify the collection against our ledger and your bank statement, and process approved refunds within 5 to 7 business days of verification. The funds are paid to the verified bank account in your own name that we hold on record.

Unauthorised or disputed debit orders

If you believe a debit order was unauthorised or incorrect, you may also dispute it directly with your own bank within the dispute window that your bank allows. Leap will cooperate fully with your bank and provide the signed mandate, the credit agreement and the collection record on request. Please tell us at support@leap-fs.com at the same time so we can pause further collections while the dispute is reviewed.

Your statutory rights

This policy operates within the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 and does not limit, replace or override any statutory right you have as a consumer. If you are not satisfied with how a refund request was handled, you may follow our complaints procedure and escalate the matter to the National Credit Regulator or the Credit Ombud at no cost to you.
